About your Hosts...
Eric and Linda have recently become statistics of today's economy. Having professional backgrounds and combined experience of more than 50 years in the corporate world - we want to bring you knowledge and insight into today's Multilevel Marketing system. By trade Linda is an Executive Assistant and Paralegal and Eric has a degree in Business Management. We are heavily involved in the Laws of Attraction believing that our thoughts can manifest what we want - making us active participants in the Laws of Attraction in Action. There will be many times that we will share LOA information with you in an attempt to keep you focused on where your thoughts are. We have also become quite adept in multilevel marketing and we are successfully running two businesses (LiveTheSource and Relationship Management) and we will periodically share tips and ideas on multilevel marketing techniques that are working for us. Why the Lighthouse?
Every organization (business or otherwise) should have a mission and a philosophy that governs what they are about and how they conduct business. Achieve-Your-Dreams.com is about people helping people; primarily with their current business, planned business or just getting into business and in reality helping others in any way that we can (we know lots of people). That in a nutshell is our mission and philosophy.
In addition a business or business person should brand themselves in a manner that speaks to their mission and philosophy. This allows you to stand out amongst the rest of the businesses out there and be associated with your unique personality. For Linda and me, the lighthouse is our branding, iconic choice and symbol. Already you are probably thinking; “Linda and Eric, they are those lighthouse people”. No we are not dreaming about being light keepers (most lighthouses have been converted to automatic anyway), or to open a bed and breakfast (I hear there is one in California though), or own a lighthouse residence (well maybe someday). Let me put this into perspective by starting with a short history on “lighthouses”.
Can you picture a world where there weren’t any lighthouses or some sort of beacon? In that world there would be no mariners or explorers for the most part the greater joy was the possibility of returning home again. For “ancients”, the understanding of this was far greater than perhaps us “moderns”. No matter how far out their adventures took them, they were meant to be round trips. So they built fires atop hills that overlooked the seas. The earliest mariners sailed close to the shoreline, but as they grew bolder, either out of necessity or just the thrill, they started to venture further out to sea. Far enough out that it was necessary to have help finding their way back home. Being lost at sea, especially with minimal visibility very simply was a matter of life and death. Families and friends of those adventurers called them home with beacons of light with the once source available to them, fire. Since a light elevated is far more visible from a greater distance that one at sea level, they built their fires on prominent headlands. We don’t know for sure when the first “tower” type beacon was created, it may go back as far as 5000 BC in the Persian Gulf where sacrificial fires may have been used, but that is only speculation.
All through the ages lighthouses call to us and have a very emotional appeal. Lighthouses continue to inspire and uplift us today. They remind us of heroic deeds, adventures far out to sea and the safe return home.
Being in your own business is definitely an adventure to say the least, particularly in today’s stormy economic seas where the waves can be daunting during the storm. As with mariners over the years, setting your sights or goals is the only way to get to your destination. Think of those goals as your lighthouse, a navigational beacon that will guide you to safe harbor. As all through history the lighthouse was provided to the adventurers by others who cared enough about them and wanted them to arrive at their destination safely.
As I stated above our mission and philosophy is to help others; in business, with their personal health and wellness or with just about anything as long as it isn’t illegal, immoral or fattening. We will help light the way to your destination, your goals by providing guidance, advice, contacts, referrals and more! Remember that you are in business for yourself but not by yourself. Even if you just need someone to talk to, seek out those lighthouse people; Linda and Eric.

As a side note, if you are a lighthouse aficionado or I have sparked an interest in lighthouse history I recommend the book; The Lighthouse Encyclopedia, The Definitive Reference; Copyright 2004 by Ray Jones in association with Lighthouse Digest and the American Lighthouse Foundation; The Globe Pequot Press, Guilford, CT. It was a valuable resource to me in writing this article.
